Happy Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day!  One of the things we love most about Simi Valley is the generous spirit that pervades.  There is still an air of small town charm, a friendly smile and greeting, everything slows down just a bit, no rush.   We love to take care of our own and give back and we do it in a big way.  Here are some of the most loving organizations in Simi Valley:

Soroptimist International of Simi Valley:  This women’s club chartered just two years ago and has grown to 64 members.  Their charge is women helping women, reaching all ages and demographics.  Some of their most notable programs are the iMatter Conference for teens and Live Your Dream Awards giving deserving women $5,000 in scholarships.  Their upcoming LUNAFEST film festival will be February 23, 2017; featuring nine short films produced and directed by women about issues that affect women’s lives.

Kiwanis Club of Simi Valley:  The Kiwanis Club of Simi Valley is 100 members strong and quietly going about the business of helping Simi Valley’s organizations and citizens.   They host fourteen youth leadership service clubs at our local schools, give over $10,000 in scholarships annually, serve each month at the local Samaritan Center, partner with school fundraiser fairs, donate to the YMCA, Boys & Girls Club and so much more.  They are the host of Simi Valley’s Round Up Country Music Festival on April 1, 2017.

Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise:  Simi Sunrise has been recognized as one of the most dynamic, committed, and fun service organizations in the Ventura County area.  This club serves the homeless monthly, give over $20,000 in scholarships to students of Simi ranging from high school to trade school, hosts a Thanksgiving dinner for seniors, give over 400 bikes away each Christmas and more!  Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise is host to Simi’s largest festival, the Simi Valley Cajun and Blues Festival over Memorial Day Weekend, May 27-28, 2017.
